Sisterhood in Cloth: Introducing Soeur to Maze

There’s something about the French. Effortless style, immaculate cut, a knack for making the ordinary look poetic. Step onto any Parisian street and you’ll see what we mean — someone in a simple sweater, cropped trouser, and perfectly scuffed loafer looking as if they’ve just stepped out of a magazine.

Now imagine bringing that je ne sais quoi a little closer to home. Enter Soeur, the Parisian label that has just landed at Maze. Founded by sisters Domitille and Angélique Brion, Soeur – meaning 'sister' – feels exactly as you’d expect: elegant, understated, and confident. The sort of clothes you’ll keep reaching for because they just work.

Style Notes: Our Favourite Picks
The Tailored-but-Relaxed Trouser

Soeur Vernon Trousers in Khaki – £230
Cut from a breathable blend of linen and organic cotton, these trousers settle into a gently rounded leg with comfy elasticated waistband and gathering at the cuffs. A beautifully structured staple that you'll wear on repeat.

Balloon-cut Blues

Soeur Eliott Jeans in Washed Blue – £190
Regenerative cotton – good for your conscience, great for your comfort, cropped at the ankle, balloon cut, with subtle darting at the knee. They’re playful, practical, and look perfect with a Novesta trainer.

The Jacket You’ll Live In

Soeur Windsor Jacket in Chalk – £420
A pea coat with a modern twist. Cropped and softly rounded, cut from double-faced wool, with an asymmetric front, curved sleeves, and patch pockets. Structured enough to feel sharp, light enough to actually want to wear.

Knitwear in Soft Tones

Soeur Envie Sweater in Vert D’Eau - £200  |  Soeur Envie Sweater in Gris Chine - £200
Simple but not boring. Ribbed edges, easy hammer armholes, and a straight cut that feels modern without making a fuss. Soft enough to catch the light, and soft enough to wear every day. Basically, your new go-to knit.

Cropped and Chic

Soeur Virginia Cardigan in Navy – £200
A cropped merino knit — with a gloriously clean neckline and shoulder seam detail — this is cardigan heaven, done simply and well. An instant favourite. The sort of cardigan you’ll put on once and wonder how you ever managed without.

The Easy Pullover

Will Sweater in Navy – £260
A straight-up easy jumper. Loose fit, soft merino, with ribbed edges, side slits and cuffs that don’t bother with being buttoned in. It hangs just right, feels cosy without trying too hard — very much Soeur doing what they do best.

The Understated Statement Dress

Soeur Flora Silk Shirt Dress in Khaki – £450
Silk, but make it easy. Oversized in the right places, a simple collar, buttons down the front. This dress steals the show without being showy — it floats gracefully around you and makes you feel wonderfully put-together, even when you haven’t really tried.

Why We’re Rather Fond of Soeur

Soeur is, quite simply, a family story. Everything the Brion sisters do carries their touch — and despite working together for many years, Domitille and Angélique remain inseparable. One steers the collections — with some fifteen years experience at Bonpoint and Bonton — the other handles the finances. It’s a partnership that feels natural, and that instinct for ease carries through into their collections.

A Sense of Continuity

So there we have it, hued in navy, chalk, soft green, and warm khaki, Soeur arrives at Maze with a little whisper of sophistication, sustainability, and sisterly design. It’s the kind of wardrobe addition that turns getting dressed into a little everyday pleasure.

Here’s to smooth tailoring, mindful fabrics, and gentle elegance—welcome to the Soeur season at Maze.
