Team Fits | Style Among The Terraces

This week, we spent time with the people at the heart of Maze — the team who bring care, creativity, and character to our shop each day — to see how they wear pieces from our latest collection.

Our Clifton shop is nestled among the terraces and independent stores of this leafy Bristol neighbourhood, just a short walk from the iconic suspension bridge. It’s where we start most of our mornings, and recently, it’s where we paused to capture a few quiet moments with the team.

Dressed in pieces from our SS25 collection, they stepped outside in the outfits they felt most comfortable in — simply layered for spring, and ready for whatever the day might bring. Nothing styled, just worn.

Kirsty

Originally from Devon, Kirsty studied Textile Design at Falmouth before making the move to Bristol. Since then, she’s become a much-loved part of the Maze team — always calm, approachable, and quietly creative in the way she brings things together.

At 5'3", she wears a button-front dress by LF Markey, layered with Sessùn’s Dellani Tie-Front Shirt and finished with Oscar Deen sunglasses. A look that felt true to her — unfussy, thoughtful, and ready for a walk through the city.

“I love walking to and from work,” she says. “Bristol is such a vibrant city with so many good music, food and creative opportunities. It feels like there’s always something happening.”

 James

James splits his time between photography, design, and working with the menswear collection at Maze. He’s been part of the team for just over a year, and brings a considered eye to everything — from how a piece is styled to how it’s seen through the lens.

For the shoot, he wears a look by MHL and YMC, two of his go-to brands. Known for their clean lines and easy structure, they are labels that fit his style perfectly — quiet, functional, and always with a subtle detail or two.

“Really loving what Sage is bringing to YMC at the moment,” he says. “His approach reminds me of Virgil Abloh’s—pulling from so many creative disciplines to make super informed and thoughtful designs. Would recommend their YMC Sounds playlists too, they’re a bit of a hidden gem.”

At 6 foot, James layers the MHL Poplin Overall Shirt over Folk’s contrast sleeve tee, paired with YMC’s Tearaway Selvedge jeans  — a clean, utilitarian look that feels quietly put together. Halfway through the shoot, he swaps in the Service Works Picnic Shirt, bringing a more relaxed, summer-ready feel to the mix.

Amelia

Originally from London, Amelia moved to Bristol seven years ago and now works as Assistant Manager at Maze. With a background in fashion and a love for live music, her style blends structure with ease — often leaning toward androgynous silhouettes, utility shapes and bold, sculptural jewellery.

At 5'7", she wears the MHL shirt dress with Novesta high tops and Lepagón jewellery — practical, grounded, and unmistakably her.

I like clothes that give you a bit of freedom,” she says. “Something you can move in, but that still feels intentional. I always go for layers, clean lines and pieces that sit somewhere between masculine and feminine.”

Her go-to playlist includes Fontaines D.C. and anything by Loyle Carner — music with rhythm, energy and a sense of space.

Cat

Cat has been with Maze for eight years, working as Store Manager and Buyer across both menswear and womenswear. If you’ve ever shopped with us in Bristol, chances are you’ll recognise her — warm, instinctive, and always ready with the perfect recomendation, Cat is very much at the heart of the Maze community.

With a background in fashion and a strong sense of personal style, she gravitates toward pieces that make an impact without feeling overthought. “I’m all about minimal effort, maximum impact,” she says. “Bright colours, interesting shapes — but still with a feminine edge. And always comfortable.”

At 5'5", Cat wears the bold blue L.F. Markey Valen trouser with a simple Bellerose tee, the Una jacket from Selected Femme and a pair of Oscar Deen sunglasses. Easy, expressive, and completely her.

When the sun’s out, you’ll likely find her down by the harbourside at The Junction. The last gig she caught was Oracle Sisters at Thekla — a venue she loves for its energy and water-side charm.

There’s something about the shift into spring that invites a bit more colour, a few extra layers, and a gentler pace. From bright mornings in Clifton to evenings by the harbour, this is how the Maze team are wearing the season — bold in places, soft in others, and always with style.
