Jemima's Christmas Wish List
Looking for inspiration to find the perfect gift this Christmas? Our superstar Supervisor Jemima steps into the spotlight once again to share her shopfloor insights and wish-list for the gifting season.

For me, the last-minute present buying panic detracts from the merriment of the festive season, so I’d like to invite you to read my Christmas Wishlist of beautiful and useful presents where just one gift is plenty. It’s a charming (almost relaxing) Christmas card scene here in Clifton Village and, in our miniature department store, I hope that with our brilliant team’s help you can find something for everyone.
Kate Sheridan
So, first of all, Kate Sheridan Scout and Jigsaw Bags. Both Emily and I bought ourselves one last year and we’re tempted by this seasonal pine green. They’re both neat designs for day or night. Grateful recipients will always be able to find their phone and keys and a regular customer told me that they’re ideal for a bus pass! And on a smaller budget, the little purses (in many naturally-tanned shades) will last a lifetime.

Sandqvist
On accessories, Sandqvist is another well-made brand that appeals to customers of all ages. The Dante design is as smart and minimal as backpacks get, but in some pretty cheery festive colours. Berry red or holly green? Or a rather chic black one that works well with Sarah’s minimalist style.

Trudon
For very important people in your life, we have the most beautiful scented candles, roomsprays and diffusers you have ever seen or smelt. Trudon have perfected their products over centuries and they are wonderfully decadent. There’s even a scent called Gloria with a base of firewood (Patchouli, Haitian Vetiver and cedarwood), layers of spice and a hint of citrus. Glorious indeed!

Bellerose Hubble Jacket
Coats are a really good ‘big present’ and I have a favourite wool red coat that I asked for nearly 15 years ago and I look forward to wearing every year. I can see myself in this swingy jacket from Bellerose in 15 years time, and the pastel wool lining would always bring me joy. Perhaps I’d wear it to the park with small children or with my leggings on the way to pilates, who knows what the future holds!

Hartford Paul Cord Shirt
I remember my first Christmas at Maze when I enjoyed the decisiveness of a customer who bought each of her three sons a Hartford shirt. They are timeless and there’s a colour for everyone. They might be in our menswear department but I know women love ‘borrowing’ them too (I’m definitely guilty of buying presents that I really want for myself!).

Universal Works Zip Waistcoat
Last year I chose this gilet in green for my dad, and my partner Dan has it in navy blue. He’d definitely like another though, and buying a different colour of something that is worn and loved is a safe but thoughtful gift idea.

Howlin'
You can’t beat classic lambswool jumpers for warmth and longevity, sometimes I borrow Dan’s Scottish and Irish jumpers. We have designs from Howlin’ this year in both menswear and womenswear in various shapes and textures. I just love a man in a roll neck jumper! Perhaps these could be our evening looks when we get married next year...

Blundstone Chelsea Boots - his n hers!?
Finally, if you want to buy someone a life-enhancing present, get them a pair of Blundstones. How could you wear anything else once you’ve tried these? They go with everything and are indestructible. Mine are five years old so I’d appreciate a pair for best too.

I’d be thrilled with just one present under the tree (preferably wrapped in brown paper with a big red bow). And if the grownups in your family still do stockings, we do have a lovely array of socks too!
