Playing it Cool | Oliver Spencer AW16
Oliver Spencer is a great British fashion brand that's seen stellar growth since its creation in 2002. Producing clothes for modern man, Ollie Spencer has become renowned for his distinguishable relaxed tailoring, proudly made in Britain.
Born out of a desire to create a collection that reflected his own wardrobe, Spencer has garnered a very loyal and dedicated fanbase, including many celebrity followers like Jude Law, Idris Elba and Michael Fassbender to name a few. Every product contains the code 51.5222N 00.1185W which are the latitude and longitude coordinates for the Oliver Spencer Design HQ in London’s Lamb Conduit Street.
This season's collection is inspired by the travels of maverick musician Ginger Baker from London to Africa where he was immersed into the world of Afrobeat, collaborating with the legendary African musician, Fela Kuti. The oversized checks mixed with potato prints and Moroccan stripes point up the collaboration Spencer is referencing.
His influences may be wide ranging, but Spencer doesn’t stray far from his well established DNA, reliably producing collections with handcrafted quality, stylish accents and attention to detail. Relaxed tailoring, layering and a casual structure combine with all of those small but key details and make Spencer's collections one of our favourites at Maze. Have a peek at the AW16 catwalk show:
