Spotlight on | Feel Good Fashion

Written by Jenny Garcia

As the world of fashion continues to learn, evolve and change for the better, we at Maze take our role in this cycle very seriously. We have always partnered with brands who we feel provide you with the best quality and design, but more than that, pieces that you will wear and wear, clothing that becomes part of you and fits seamlessly into your wardrobes for now and beyond.

This season we are delighted to share with you some new thoughtful, contemporary brands, who’s ethos and aesthetics are very much aligned to our own slow fashion style.

Sideline, designed and founded by Ellen Brookes, are committed to producing good quality, well designed clothing, in a way that is considerate to the planet, by using waterless ozone washing on all their denim and cottons, and eliminating all single use plastic from their packaging. The SS21 collection is full of covetable pieces, that can be styled and re-styled over and over.

For all the gingham lovers out there, we recommend the Marianne dress. We’re currently wearing ours with the Hudson Lingshaw boots in brown, layered up with Organic Basics recycled camel knit. As the weather turns warmer, we’ll be switching these out for Victoria’s cotton canvas pump in Maiz yellow, and the Kate Sheridan linen tote.

For those that like to mix things up a little the Jupiter dress, made from three contrasting fabrics, adds a playful note to this perfectly simple sun dress.

In menswear we’re introducing you to Sunray. A confident but humble brand who believe “there are no shortcuts to any place worth going”, we’ll second that. Their paired back, easy going wardrobe staples are produced slowly and carefully, each one represents considered simplicity. Based in Cornwall, this ethically minded sportswear brand manufactures each garment on antique knitting circular knitting machines (did you know jersey is knitted?) in Japan. Their minimalistic design is as deliberate as their commitment to re-shaping the clothing industry for the better.

We can’t get enough of the neutral colour palate with subtle pastel colour pops in yellow and blue. Just one thing though, these pieces are so good, you might find you ended up sharing them with the girls!
