Written by Jenny Garcia

There is something pretty magical about finding the perfect dress, like finding a pot of gold at the end of a rainbow. A great dress can help us feel free, empowered, feminine, relevant and confident. A one stop outfit, dress on good to go, but it doesn’t stop there. Now more than ever we are wanting to get the most out of our wardrobes, which requires styling our clothes in multiple ways. A good dress will be worn on repeat, 30+ wears to make it a sustainable investment. So, knowing how to dress a dress is key to unlocking it’s versatility.

When outfit planning it’s easy stop at dress, shoes, jacket, but it’s not until you really start playing around with your whole look that the real magic starts. The same dress can take you from wedding to picnic, meeting to lunch date, office to supermarket, it’s all in the accessories. Switching out a straw shopper for a leather cross body, a red lip for a slick of lip balm, gold jewellery for no jewellery, heels for flats, will instantly transform your look.

Here at Maze we’re maxing out the potential of our summer frocks by doing just this. Starting with this classic earthy tea dress by Des Petits Hauts, which pairs perfectly with Kate Sheridan’s Rhythm Bag and Hudson Nickel’s Sandal for a feminine feel, or Hudson Lingshaw Nubuk Boot and Bellerose Loud Jacket for dog walks and cloudy days.

Nothing is more versatile than an LBD. One of the hardest working items in our closets. This season Norse Projects have really delivered with their technical linen shift that doesn’t crease and has pockets! We’re wearing it with the Rains Backpack and Hudson Sierra Trainer for a more sporty aesthetic, or for a smarter take, we’re going with the Hudson Nickel Sandal and Kate Sheridan Midi Tote. Both options partner perfectly with the addition of the ultimate wardrobe staple, Lolly’s Laundry super soft leather biker.
