Working Class Heroes | Universal Works
It's a new season and blazing a trail in the style stakes are Maze favourite, Universal Works. Headed by David Keyte, something of an industry Don who's worked his way up through brands like Paul Smith and Maharishi, Universal Works has become synonymous with good quality, honest menswear and a commitment to top-notch production.
Celebrating their 10th anniversary year, Universal Works have pulled out all the stops to create a collection that continues their journey into modern clothing with a visible link to tradition. “Less interested in fashion and more in the function, fit and cut of garments”, David produces clothes that are a pleasure to wear.
The loose theme of this season is Aesop’s fable of the Hare and the Tortoise, a story that tells of the importance of a calm and consistent approach. Thoughtful and considered, the AW19 collection is confident, sporty, vibrant and richly colourful. Colours are deep and rich, matched with luxurious and textured fabrics. Shapes are loose and comfortable. Every season, Universal Works aim to produce a honest and wearable clothes, a layered mix of streetwear, workwear, military and classic British styles. For AW19 it is sports and social at its best.
